From the Ashes the Phoenix Arises
The students who graduate from the Harrow Course at the University of Westminster
in 2008 are particularly special, for it is they who witnessed the ashes which were
the remains of our much-
The range of work is characteristically
diverse, ranging from intimate,
detailed ceramic pieces to richly glazed bowls and
intriguing
installations.
To those who knew nothing of the events of last June, it
is a perfectly
normal exhibition, which does in fact make it an extraordinary feat.
At
the start of the year students decided to give their show a title: this showed great
faith in their abilities not only to survive but to shine, and so it is with pride
that we wish all our final year students the greatest success and congratulate them
for their remarkable achievements as the ‘Phoenix’ has indeed arisen from the ashes.
